— E.L.E. MURALS

In the summer of 2016, I was commissioned to create a series of murals for an electronic music festival in Canada. They feature a spotlight local artist each year, and that summer they chose me.

I was asked to make something psychedelic, somehow involving an elephant, because the festival logo looks like a graphic elephant head.

I thought about the intent of the music festival; an inclusive event that brings people together from all walks of life.

I ended up drawing and painting a series of animal murals that symbolize different things, and my biggest centrepiece featured a parrot, an elephant, and a sea turtle. These symbolized creatures of the sky, of the land, and of the sea, all existing together harmoniously. All parts of a whole.
